Max Porter
Max Porter wuchs in High Wycombe auf und besuchte dort die Schule. Er studierte Kunstgeschichte am Courtauld Institute of Art in London (M.A.) Er gab sein Promotionsvorhaben auf und arbeitete als Buchhändler und erhielt 2009 einen „Young Bookseller of the Year Award“. Porter arbeitet seit 2012 als Verlagslektor bei Granta Books. Mit seiner Familie ist er aus London nach Bath umgezogen.[1]
Porter veröffentlichte 2015 seinen ersten Roman Grief is the Thing with Feathers, der auf die Longlist des Guardian First Book Award gelangte sowie auf die Shortlist des Goldsmiths Prize; 2016 gewann das Buch den International Dylan Thomas Prize.[2] Sein zweiter Roman Lanny wurde für den Booker Prize 2019 nominiert.[3]
Max Porter
Porter was born in High Wycombe in 1981 and received a degree in History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, followed by an MA in radical performance art, psychoanalysis, and feminism.[2][3] Prior to his writing career, Porter managed the Chelsea branch of Daunt Books[4] and won the Bookseller of the Year Award in 2009. He was Editorial Director at Granta and Portobello Books until 2019.[5]
In 2019, Porter was named as a guest curator for the Cheltenham Literary Festival.[6]
